"Element" by H. Peter

You cannot make someone love you.
All you can do is be someone who can be loved.
The rest is up to them.

If I could move the planets
I would give you the moon,
As a shining jewel to gently
brighten your room.
And then I would place the
sun over you above,
So you would always feel
the warmth of my Love.

Some pray to marry the man they love,
My prayer will somewhat vary.
I humbly pray to Heaven above,
That I love the man I marry.

Rose Parker Stokes (1879-1933)

Come, walk with me among the tall grass.
Feel the gentle winds as they brush against your skin.
Feel the warmth of the sun upon your face.
Feel the softness of the summer rain as it embraces you.
Smell the wild flowers growing in the meadow.
Hear the birds as they sing their song.
For I am all these things and more.
The winds are my fingers touching.
The sun is the warmth of my kiss.
The summer rain is my caress.
The wild flowers, the scent of my hair.
And the song of the birds,
the sweet sound of my voice as I say;
" Come, walk with me among the tall grass
and feel my spirit...."

A Hidden Place

Each of us has a hidden place
Somewhere deep within ourselves; a place where we go to get away,
To think things through, to be alone, to be ourselves.
This unique place, where we confront our deepest feelings,
Becomes a storehouse of all our hopes, all our needs, all our dreams,
And even our unspoken fears.
It encompasses the essence of who we are and what we want to be.
But now and then, whether by chance or design,
Someone discovers a way into that place we thought was ours alone.
And we allow that person to see, to feel and to share all the reason,
all the uncertainty and all the emotion we've stored up there.
That person adds new perspective to our hidden realm,
Then quietly settles down in his own corner of our special place,
Where a bit of himself will stay forever.
And we call that person a friend.....................~author unknown~

THINK OF THOSE WHO LOVE YOU

If someone should hurt you and say a thing unkind,
Remember that I write you, and keep these thoughts in mind.
For everyone that makes you cry, there are three who make you smile,
And a smile will last a long, long time, but a tear just a little while.
Don't let someone who hates the world cause you to hate it too.
Behind the clouds is a golden sun, and a sky that's full of blue.
If someone said a thing that's cruel, don't let it get to you,
Your achievements are greatly numbered, and your faults are very few.
So if a certain person should act a certain way,
Think of those who love you and don't let it spoil your day.

May You Always Have an Angel...

May you always have an angel by your side Watching out for you in all the things you do Reminding you to keep believing in brighter days Finding ways for your wishes and dreams to take you to beautiful places Giving you hope that is as certain as the sun Giving you the strength of serenity as your guide May you always have love and comfort and courage And may you always have an angel by your side. May you always have an angel by your side  Someone there to catch you if you fall Encouraging your dreams Inspiring your happiness Holding your hand and helping you through it all In all of our days, our lives are always changing Tears come along as well as smiles Along the roads you travel, may the miles be a thousand times more lovely than lonely May they give you the kind of Christmas gifts that never, ever end: someone wonderful to love and a dear friend in whom you can confide May you have rainbows after every storm May you have hopes to keep you warm, and may you always have an angel by your side.

"The life I shared with you was full of flowers, but even flowers fade, as do rainbows and the smiles we used to share, remember?
Our paths were joined for our chosen time and together we grew stronger than we would have grown alone.
But now, my love, I must go beyond this place we share together, to a destination still unknown.
My heart is filled with love and sorrow, joy and anticipation.
Our common journey taught us to value one another's causes, just as it opened the door to our individual claims.
I do not love you less for deserting our common path, for the memory of each step is what sustains me as I grope toward higher ground.
Oh, my love, I thank you for never letting go of my hand..."

by Nancy Wood

"Beloved partner, keeper of my heart's odd secrets,
clothed in summer blossoms so the icy hand of winter never touches us, I thank your patience.
Our joining is like a tree to earth, a cloud to sky, even more. We are the reason the world can laugh on its battlefields, and rise from the ashes of its selfishness to hear me say, In this time, this place, this way, I loved you best of all."

"LANDSCAPE OF THE HEART "

The landscape of the heart varies from person to person. Some hearts thrive on conquest, meeting their love of life through the challenges they overcome. The boldness of this kind of heart may contain a landscape fraught with the sheer, granite fronts of mountain peaks, high above the timberline.

Other hearts thrive on gentleness and may reflect a landscape of soft wild flowers, covering a green meadow that slopes to a calm pond. Some hearts paint the picture of wastelands, because life has been a struggle with many burdens to bear. Wild hearts may mirror the passion of a tropical storm or the fiery eruption of volcanoes on an island that represents their independent natures. Passive and bored hearts can sketch a horizon with nothing more that a line to define between earth and colorless sky.

The broken heart is like a shattered mirror, each piece bearing a different picture of some form of lost or unrequited love. This heart represents the unmended suffering of humankind. Every human being feels this kind of fragmentation at one time or another. We encounter this shattering of the heart’s landscape when we lose loved ones through death, when we come to the end of a friendship, when we love without having that love returned, when we experience this kind of pain, our next step is in learning to heal it.

By Jamie Sams from "Earth Medicine"

Dream walker comes softly, bringing visions of delight,
Where in dreams he visited my slumber last night.

My heart is in your pocket, so tenderly refrain From pressing on it, lest it should break before we meet again.

Dream walker come hold me against your breast tonight,
So I may know the ecstasy of two hearts burning bright.

And you will know my spirit has visited you once more,
With devotion as resounding as waves, crashing to the shore.

from "Earth Medicine" by Jamie Sams

Marriage resembles a pair of shears, so joined they can not be separated,

often moving in opposite directions, yet always punishing anyone

who comes between them.

Words From my Heart

As I lay here tonight
My thoughts drift back to the sound of your voice
The wonderment I feel for finding you
You have opened up my world, to let the sun shine in
You have lifted my burden that has been holding me down
My heart sings of joy and laughter whenever your voice echoes in my ear
You've restored my faith in the word LOVE
In our hearts and in our souls
We know we will be as one
Forever together, forever whole
Forever partners, forever lovers
Forever best friends
The distance apart in miles we share together
Making us strong for the day we meet
The warm touch of your embrace wont feel new to me
The softness of your lips wont surprise me
The love in your heart I have felt many times
And I know our love will be forever
These words are my own and from my heart
I'll always love you,

"Puppylove" by Bill Hampton
ALWAYS HAVE A DREAM

Forget about the days when it's been cloudy,
but don't forget your hours in the sun.

Forget about the times you've been defeated,
but don't forget the victories you've won.

Forget about the mistakes that you can't change now,
but don't forget the lessons.

Forget about the misfortunes you've encountered,
but don't forget the times your luck has turned.

Forget about the days when you've been lonely,
but don't forget the friendly smiles you've seen......

Forget about the plans that didn't seem to work out right,
but don't forget to always have a dream.

After awhile you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and sharing a life. And you learn that love doesn't mean possession, and company doesn't mean security and loneliness is universal. And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises, And you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, with the grace of an adult and not the grief of a child, And you learn to build your hopes on today as the future has a way of falling apart in mid-flight because tomorrow's ground can be too uncertain for plans, yet each step taken in a new direction creates a path toward the promise of a brighter dawn. And you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much so you plant your own garden and nourish your own soul instead if waiting for someone to bring you flowers, And you learn that love, true love, always has joys and sorrows seems ever present yet is never quite the same becoming more than love and less than love so difficult to define. And you learn that through it all you really can endure you really are strong that you do have value and you learn and grow with every good-bye, you learn.

The time we share together
I hold dear within my heart
Our love will also comfort us
During times we are apart

A breath I haven't taken
Without your love in mind
It will lift me if I've fallen
And dry the tears I've cried

Your love provides my heart with wings
So it may soar to higher heights
And to only you, shall I return
When I tire from my flight.

May the Great Spirit bless
your path together with peace, understanding and
everlasting love.

Has there ever been a time in your life when you just needed someone to talk to?
Someone to listen to your point of view?
Without telling you right or wrong or making judgments on you?
Has there ever been a time in your life when you just needed a hug?
From someone who cares who will just give you one because they care?
Has there ever been a time in your life when you needed to lean on someone?
Someone who would just cuddle up with you and hold you as you both sat quietly?
Has there ever been a time in your life when you just felt blue?
Not knowing exactly what was wrong but not knowing what to do?
I think many of us feel this way at different times and that is when
we turn to good friends and family to help us through.
I want you to know that I am here to listen and not to judge.
To offer you a smile and to hug you and hold you when you are feeling blue.

THE SWEET CALM IN MY STORM

 with you I find peace
 I don't understand why
thoughts scatter through my mind
fragments fly
glimpses of ideas I seek to find

a timeless mystery
how the thoughts flow
illusion or reality
how can we ever really know
certainly beyond my capability

with you I find peace
thoughts settle and take form
pictures illuminate in my mind
a sweet calm in the storm
of reflections left behind

with you, I can sigh
a physical release of my fears
that my every desire is beyond my grasp
I surrender to tears
my world once again in my clasp

but is it? I wonder
there is no way to know
speculation and idle meanderings
on the side of fate I will go
well charted happenings

words, sounds explode through my being
multi dimensional images race
seeking wholeness, serenity and escape
from within my minds maze
a complicated landscape

but with you I find peace
fragments gather, collect, unite
the thoughts ease and form
and are released as I write
you are the sweet calm in my storm
